Raymond Joseph Myers

Raymond Myers passed away peacefully on Wednesday, April 9th, 2025 after a long period of health challenges, during which he amazed everyone with his strength and resilience. Shortly after the passing of his beloved son Raymond, we take comfort in knowing that they are together once again.

Raymond is the cherished husband of Marilyn (nee Peddle) of 51 years together, filled with love and memories. Proud father of Nancy (Mark) Evans, Grandfather of Chelsie Laurie (Austin Payne) and son-in-law of Don Peddle. He also held a special place in his heart for his son’s partner, Christina McArthur and her children Terika and Jaxson. Dear brother to Sheila (George) Basha, Kevin (Lorraine), Mary (John) Murphy, Angela (Mike) McNamara, Elizabeth Young, Theresa Wylie (Rick Faulkner), Robert (Margaret), Christine (Dino) Marrocco and brother in law to Carol Myers, Joanne Myers, Susan Cooke, Donna Myers, Wayne (Jean) Peddle and Judy McGill. He will be fondly remembered by his many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends including Dougie Miller and Donny Kavanagh. He is predeceased by and together once again with his parents Patrick and Elizabeth (nee Byrne), his brothers Johnny, Thomas, William, Bernard, Patrick, his brother-in-law Jim Young and his mother-in-law Agnes Peddle.

Ray loved to be outside, whether he was golfing, fishing or camping, he was happiest when he was out enjoying life. He especially loved spending time at his trailer, surrounded by good company, good laughs and a bit of peace and quiet.

Growing up in a big family had a big influence on who Ray was. It shaped his values, his sense of humour and his love for sharing stories. He always had something to say and more often than not he had everyone around him laughing. He could strike up a conversation with anyone. Never shy, he was always such a presence in any room.

Ray had a big heart, and if you were one of his people, you knew it. He made time for those he cared for and truly enjoyed just being around them. That’s what we will cherish; his stories, his humour and how easy it was to feel at home when he was around.

Cremation has taken place and relatives and friends will be received at Coutts Funeral Home on Wednesday, April 16th, 2025 from 3-4 p.m. A Memorial Service will take place at 4 p.m. in the funeral home chapel.
