John “Jack” Fish passed away peacefully on Thursday, December 14th, 2017 at the age of 91. He has gone to join his wife in heaven, Christine Fish, who has been patiently waiting for him since 1999. We will remember Jack as an elegant, charming, handsome, dignified, and kind man. He was so outgoing that he would take the time to say hello to everyone, whether he knew you or not. Jack was a real class act, a family man, and a guy who simply loved life. British to a fault, you could often hear him saying, “Me ‘ol sweat” or, “Bob’s your uncle, Fanny’s your aunt.” Jack was a long-time member of St. Clement’s Parish, a hockey coach, and a mentor. He won the “Best Dad in the World” award every single year. He was truly a great man, and he will be deeply missed by his children: Glenn (Jennifer), Karen (Paul), and Christine. Jack will also be lovingly remembered by his grandchildren: Michael, Jessica, Kyle, Melissa, Grace, and Lucas. Friends and relatives are invited to a visitation on Tuesday, December 19th at Barthel Funeral Home (566 Queenston Road, Cambridge) from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Wednesday, December 20th at St. Clement’s Parish (745 Duke Street, Cambridge) at 12:00 p.m. Interment will follow at Parklawn Cemetery. To honour Jack and Chrissy’s memory, donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.
