Passed away peacefully at St, Andrews Terrace on Monday July 9, 2012 in his 86th year. Beloved husband of Maria Long. Loving father of Maria, Angela, Paul, Patricia ,Brenda and Daniel. Also survived by 17 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. Predeceased by his parents Michael and Margaret McMenemy, and his brother James. Daniel was born in Glasgow Scotland and has lived in Cambridge for 46 yrs. A member of United Association of plumbers, steam fitters and welders local 527. Served with the Blackwatch 6th British Airborn Division 7th parachute battalion.. A member of the Royal Canadian Legion, and Canadian Airborne Association and has decorations for service in WW 2 and active duty in Palestine. The family will receive friends at Coutts Funeral Home 96 St. Andrews St. Cambridge on Wednesday July 11th from 2-4 and 7-9 P. M. Funeral Mass will be held at St. Gregory’s R. C. Church on Thursday July 12, 2012 at 10 A. M. Interment Parklawn Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy donations to the Alzheimers Society would be appreciated by the family.
