He passed away on April 28, 2024 in Cambridge, Ontario after a brief illness. Colin was 88 years old.
Colin is survived by his wife Chan Ager, his children Janet (Joe) Traynham and Valerie (Robert) Gooden; grandchildren Andrew, Kingston, and Zion. He was predeceased by his son Simon.
Colin was born into a family of 4 and had 3 siblings named Elizabeth, Thora, and Doreen.
He grew up in New Castle Upon Tyne until he married and moved with his family to Acton, Ontario in 1966.
Colin’s favourite soccer team was Newcastle United and he was an avid soccer and sports fan and was instrumental in starting the Acton Youth Soccer League while also coaching soccer.
Colin was also a member of the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors and after 10 years in Acton he moved to Cambridge, Ontario where he continued to leave his mark as he worked in construction his whole life. Colin was the founder and president of QS Holdings and Jeannie Homes in Cambridge.
Colin loved to travel and spend time with his family and friends. He especially loved his grandchildren, and they loved him as well. He and his wife Chan enjoyed travelling and playing golf together. He possessed a great wit and always had a smile and laugh for all. Colin was an avid reader; he was always up for a conversation and possessed great knowledge. He will be dearly missed by all those who knew him.
A private cremation was held with the family. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
