My condolences to the family . Sis Ivy was a rare diamond 💍 which is very hard to find these days . She served from a pure heart without asking for anything in return .she was a sister , mother and friend to me . 

We lost our beloved neighborhood mother and Goddess.  When I opened my shop next door to Ivey’s in 2014 Bridget welcomed me with open arms and told the whole downtown all about me.  Her warmth, kindness was very palpable…to me she really represented a good Christian woman for real, caring and feeding the poor with never a harsh of unkind word… She worked hard and loved her kids and grans …I will truly miss her… my deepest condolences to her family, my dear neighbors and all of those whom she touched…my Heartfelt prayers offered in deep appreciation …may she find her way home in Love and Spirit

Growing up in church in Jamaica we were assigned
church mothers. Mommy Ivey chose me to be her
daughter. She was indeed a true mother. She was not only concerned about my spiritual growth but also the physical aspects of my life. She was adamant about me not dating a certain brother because he just wasn't for
me. She was firm, yet funny and was always giving of herself. I would spend a lot of weekends at her house so that when Mommy Ivey migrated to Canada, my family and I moved in. I know I have hope in seeing her again on that great triumphant morning. Until then, Rest in peace. ❤️

POEM FOR MY MOTHER:
If roses grow in heaven, Lord please pick a bunch for me and place them in my mother’s arms and tell her they’re from me.

Tell her I love her and miss her, and when she turns to smile place a kiss upon her cheek and hold her for a while.

Remembering her is easy. I do it every day, but there’s an ache within my heart that will never go away.

Don’t think of her as gone away. Her journey’s just begun. Life holds so many promises, and life on this earth is only one of them.

Just think of her as resting from the sorrows and the tears in a place of warmth and comfort where there are no days or years.

Think how she must be wishing that we could know today. How nothing but our sadness, can really pass away.

And think of her as living in the hearts of those she touched. For nothing loved is ever lost and she was loved so much and shared so much and asked nothing in return.

As we look upon her picture, sweet memories we recall of a face so full of pleasant joys, And a smile for one and all.

Lord, take this message, to my dear mother in heaven up above and tell her how much we all miss her; And give her all our love.

You will truly be missed… love you from the first day I saw u … just a pure kind hearted soul

Better know to me as Tita. A loving kind and sweet person, always happy and full of laughter. She was easy to love and you would always want to be in her presences  once she is around. It is not easy to lose a love  one to the grave but you always be in our hearts. Thanks for the life that God allowed you to share. Rest in peace. 

I spoke with Aunty some times before and instead of me encouraging her she was encouraging me  in Christ. I felt really motivated after speaking with her that day. My hope is for all to come to peace in Christ, as we mourn for a wife, mother sister, aunt, motivator and a true christian  woman. God bless us all.

I never  met Mrs. Ivey. But, for 15 years her husband  Clifton  and I were co-workers  at the K.S.A.C. Fire Brigade.

Sister Ivy was a blessing to me and so many more people .  She was a kind and warm hearted person. She was a praying woman of God. She was firm and determined about her relationship with God. I remember many nights we had prayer at her  former house in Waterford, Jamaica. I loved hearing her pray. She was a prayer warrior. I will miss her but i know that she is resting sweetly in the arms of the Lord.

My name is Christine and I'm one of Mom Ivey's Church daughter from back home in Jamaica. Mom Ivey was pivotal in my life as my own mom was not yet saved. Mom Ivey taught me how to behave as a young lady and treated me as her own. She was very strict with me as I was a bit outspoken. One of my pleasures was to be a junior usher in church as she was a senior usher and the head of them too. She gave me my 1st white usher suit and showed me how to march the choir around the church.  There are so many memories, my most treasured ones were the days I spent at her home in Waterford. I'm so glad I got the opportunity to speak and see her before now. We reminisced of the old times. I'm so happy I got to tell her how much I love her.  I will always remember her, she was and will forever remain a part of my life. Loved you in life and will always love you Mom Ivey. Rest well until we meet again. Love, prayers and blessings always 🙏🏾 ❤

I can remember my mother sending us to church with Ms Ivey. She would always put us to sit where she could see us because we always disappearing to go outside to chat. This particular Sunday the church was on fire and the holy ghost took charge of Ms Ivey, I got so scared I went under the church bench. When it was all over I remember she saying where is Keisha, I told that pickney not to move,, sure enough I thought I would get a pinch so I did not answer. Then she saw me under the bench and she  stated to laugh and said come out u too easy fi frighten. 

SIEP Ms Ivey for you are in paradise.
