Barnes, Alan Resident of Cambridge, Ontario formerly Merthyr Tydfil, Wales passed away October 30, 2022 at Hospice Wellington in Guelph in his 85th year.
He married Elizabeth in 1962 and emigrated to Canada in 1966. Together they raised three children and enjoyed 60 happy years together. Alan retired from engineering after leading several plant transformations. He enjoyed playing rugby in his younger days, then golf as he grew older. He was proud to be a part of the Order of the Eastern Star and the Masonic Lodge, and enjoyed travelling and spending time with family and friends.
Alan will be sorely missed by his wife Elizabeth, his children Ruth Westerveld (Gary), Jayne Sheppard (Kent) and Michael Barnes and his grandchildren Rhys, Michael and Christine. Survived by his brother Dennis Barnes (Linda) and nephew Philip. Predeceased his parents Edward and Doris.
