Wing was born on November 17, 1940 in Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan. He was one of five children born to Ethel Opal Gee. Family was everything to Wing, and he always did whatever he could to look after his family.
Wing began his adult life working at Holiday Cleaners, working for Norman Kwong. He later worked for the City of Calgary for a short time as a transit driver. He co-managed the world renowned Peter’s Drive-In, with the help of his brother Hank in the 70’s.
Wing began his locksmithing career in 1981 at SAIT and was a member of the Alberta Union of Provincial Employees (AUPE), where he honed his trade with on the job training. He became a Journeyman Locksmith in 1993. Wing made some very special lifelong friends there. He remained at SAIT until his early retirement at age 55. His locksmithing knowledge came in handy for his friends and family as well.
Wing was an avid golfer in his younger years. He was an originating member of the Calgary Chinese Golf Association. He loved his cars and always enjoyed seeing the new cars at the annual auto show. He even painted a few cars himself many years ago. He was a big fan of Dean Martin, ABBA, and loved all the James Bond movies. He enjoyed riding his bike and playing the One-Armed Bandits.
Wing is survived by his wife of 59 years, Barbara, his sister Marie Gee, daughter Shannon Richmond (Kenneth), granddaughter Haley Walter (Justin), grandson Alexander Richmond, sister-in-law Margaret Mogridge, nieces Sherry Mosmann, Angela Colabella (Domenic) and Joanne Mogridge, nephews Michael Gee (Kimberley), David Chow, Ken Mogridge (KiKi) and Grant Mogridge (Veronika), as well as several great nieces and nephews. He was very close with his cousins Jerry Wah, Don Wah and Ken Yee.
Wing was predeceased by his loving mother Ethel Gee, brothers Gene Chow, Hank Gee, sister May Gee, and brother-in-law Don Mogridge.
At Wing’s request, there will be no Funeral Service.
