We are heartbroken to announce the loss of Wilson Wai Shing Chan who passed away suddenly but peacefully at the Foothills hospital in Calgary, Alberta on Wednesday, December 29, 2021 at the age of 80 years young.
Wilson is survived by and is the beloved husband of Linda Siu Fong Chan, married for 54 years and whom he met in Hong Kong. He was a dedicated and hardworking father and husband, which prompted a daunting immigration of the family to Canada in 1977 for hopes of a better life. Even with challenges of language and finances, Wilson and Linda successfully raised 4 University educated children. He is survived by his children Allan Chan (Fiona), Anne Kaiser (Chris), Amy Wilson (Joe), Alice Chan; and his cherished grandchildren Madison, Jared, Camryn, Everett, Carmen and Kaitlyn.
Wilson is the son of Kwong Chan and Tung Wong and was born in Kowloon, Hong Kong. He is the second youngest of seven children and is also survived by his older brother James Chan, his wife Lily and their daughters Jenny and Janice and many dear relatives still residing in Hong Kong whom he loved visiting.
He was trained as an Electrician in Hong Kong and was an overall talented handyman and cook.
He will be tremendously missed and will always be remembered for his big heart, big smile, and love and devotion for his family and pets.
