Trinity changed the lives of the Thompson family when she was two years old. From the moment she walked through the autumn leaves at Prairie Winds Park there was no doubt of the pure love and connection shared.
Those around Trinity quickly noticed her intelligence and ability to make instant friends and connections. Neighbours and strangers alike, she was never shy to go up to anyone and say hello or give a hug.
This love extended to all creatures and often found Trinity in Petland. She even trained her favorite snake to be more friendly and was welcomed into the store as if she was staff.
As soon as she could read Trinity was captivated by books. Whenever she could fill time with reading, rather than anything else, she would. So much so that during elementary she was banned from bringing her own books to school to save her teachers sanity.
It is a well-known fact that Trinity had a deep love for sports which was a huge part of her since being coached in softball by her dad at age 6. They built a strong bond over this relationship. Her skill and athleticism inspired others whether in gymnastics, volleyball, dance, rock climbing, or even badminton. Because of her pure commitment she was invited to train for the Alberta provincial gymnastics team in trampoline and tumbling. Trinity had a tough choice to make, but ultimately her love for softball won (to the great joy of her dad).
On her softball team, Trinity was always the encouraging cheerleader who brought everyone together with a big "we are proud of you, we are proud of yoouu!" After many years of playing she decided to try the other side of the game and unsurprisingly became a strong willed umpire.
During high school Trinity developed another passion while in culinary class. To the delight of her family she began to take over the kitchen and plated many beautiful courses. Receiving a culinary award when graduating from Notre Dame High School in 2019, she had hopes of becoming a chef.
Trinity was very proud of being a barista at Starbucks for four and a half years, even receiving an award for ‘District Partner of the Quarter.' She built meaningful friendships and was supported whole-heartedly by her managers.
All of this experience made Trinity into a compassionate social warrior who was never afraid to stand up for issues she felt strongly about. Thanks to her inquisitive nature she never shied away from discussions about deep topics with her mom, dad, and grandpa. She was a proud part of the LGBTQ2+ community and going to connected events was close to her heart.
Never will there be a stronger bond than that of Trinity and her sister Taylor. The two were inseparable at a photo shoot, making it near impossible for the photographer to take separate shots. They cheered each other on in everything: Taylor proudly attending every sporting event and Trinity following Taylor's theatrical performances. Their giggles would be heard behind closed doors, sharing life's secrets.
Trinity loved Harry Potter and had a rule with mom that no movies could be seen until the book was completed. They cherished their time together reading before bed for many years. One of her birthday parties was even complete with spells, magic wands and visits from Hogwarts Professors (played by her big sister).
Trin had an unbroken pact with mom and dad that they would see every Marvel movie together on the big screen. This time meant a lot to all three and a single movie was never skipped. The years passed quickly, with the movies changing from Belle to anything action-packed with fast cars. Many many family 'pizza-movie' nights were had.
Trinity's family and friends remained a constant support for her through her struggles with mental health and addiction. We respectfully ask that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the Canadian Mental Health Association - Calgary Region at https://cmha.calgary.ab.ca/
She is remembered by the bright curiosity, energy, and love she brought to the lives of everyone around her.
Trinity is lovingly remembered by her parents, Tony and Debbi Thompson, sister Taylor (Jayson Langley); grandmas Pat Thompson and Marcelle MacMillan and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. She recently created a relationship with her biological sister Hope.
She is predeceased by her grandpas Hugh Thompson and Earl MacMillan.
A Funeral Service will be held at Foster’s Garden Chapel, 3220 – 4 Street N.W., Calgary, Alberta (across from Queen’s Park Cemetery) on Tuesday, January 10, 2023 at 2:00 PM.
