Susan Shui Kin Gee

Mrs. Susan Gee of Calgary passed away peacefully at her home at the age of 70 years old on Thursday, October 16, 2014. Susan was predeceased by her husband, Wing Pon Gee. Susan is sadly missed by her daughters, Anne (Craig), Donna (Larry), May, Jennifer, Lisa (Aaron) and son Jason, as well as her five grandchildren.

Susan was born and raised in Toishan, Kwangtung, China into a large family consisting of two brothers and three sisters. Susan, her husband and her two daughters moved to Canada in 1974 and raised the rest of the family in Saskatoon where they opened a restaurant until her retirement in 1991. Susan and her husband moved to Calgary in 1996 to be closer to their children.

A devoted and caring mother, Susan enjoyed spending her time with her children and watching her grandchildren at her home. She always ensured that everyone never left her home on an empty stomach and always had her wonderful cooking to take home with them. She was an accomplished seamstress and made many outfits for herself and her children.

Susan was actively involved in her church and was baptized as a Christian on December 25, 1997. She loved her brothers and sisters dearly at the Westside Calgary Chinese Alliance Church.

Those wishing to pay their respects may do so at a visitation held at FOSTER’S GARDEN CHAPEL, 3220 – 4 Street N.W., Calgary (across from Queen’s Park Cemetery) on Friday, October 24 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. A Funeral Service will be held at FOSTER’S GARDEN CHAPEL, 3220 – 4 Street N.W., Calgary (across from Queen’s Park Cemetery) on Saturday, October 25, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. The Interment will follow at Queen’s Park Cemetery.
