Shirley Violet Sorokoski

It is with great sadness we announce that Shirley Violet Sorokoski passed away at the Dulcina Hospice in Calgary on Tuesday, December 26th at the age of 83 years. Shirley was born in Yorkton, Saskatchewan. She graduated from The Yorkton Collegiate and began her career in Banking. From Yorkton she moved to Calgary where she would continue her career until retirement. Shirley was a social person who enjoyed serving the public and she maintained many friendships over the years. It was in Calgary where she met and married Walter Sorokoski.

Shirley was predeceased by her parents, Harold & Mable White; and her sister and brother-in-law Marlene & Richey Lane of Regina, SK and brother-in-law Syl Sorokoski of Calgary, AB.

She is survived by her husband, Walter; her siblings and their families, Stewart & Irene White of Saskatoon, SK; Bev MacDonald and partner Ed of Calgary, AB; and Bruce & Bev White of Yorkton, SK. Also left to mourn Shirley are her nieces, nephews, and their families, Cathy & Matt Ward of Saskatoon, SK; Brian & Bev Lane, Lee & Debbie Lane of Balgonie, SK; Kristi & James Zaretski of Warman, SK; her cousins and their families, Joyce Whyte of St. Albert, AB; Harvey & Thelma Wilkinson of Calgary, AB; and her sisters-in-law Adie Tice of Calgary, AB and Pat Sorokoski of Calgary, AB.

Shirley will be deeply missed by all her family and her friends. She was a wonderful lady with a great sense of humour.

The family would like to thank Dr. Sharma and the team at the Dulcina Hospice for their loving care of Shirley.

Shirley requested no funeral service be held.
