Sharon Ellen Love

Sharon was born in Calgary, AB and grew up on a farm west of Crossfield, Alberta before moving to Calgary soon after graduating from George McDougal High School in Airdrie, Alberta. She enrolled in a Calgary business college and pursued a long secretarial career. In 1995 Sharon took early retirement and she and her partner, David, had many travel adventures and amazing experiences, more than most. She was predeceased by her cherished Mother, Hilda Walroth, her Father, Charles Walroth and her sister, Linda Burns. She is survived by and lovingly remembered by her partner of over 30 years, David Gibson, her two sisters and brothers-in-law Joyce and Peter Van Es, Dorothy & Rudy Van Es, her niece, Carmen Parenteau, and her cousin and chosen sister, Karen Walroth and Karen’s partner, Rick Sarniak, numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews as well as extended family and friends across the globe.

At Sharon’s request there will be no funeral or memorial services. Cremation will be provided by Foster’s Garden Chapel Funeral Home & Crematorium. Sharon’s last wish was to acknowledge and thank each everyone who over the course of her lifetime spent time with her, laughed and cried with her, supported her and made her life special by being part of it, she wanted you to know those were gifts she was so grateful to have received with love. Sharon always felt the following words describe exactly how she wishes to be remembered.

I am a thousand winds that blow;

I am the diamond glints on the snow.

I am the sunlight on ripened grain;

I am the gentle autumn’s rain.

When you awaken in the morning’s hush,

I am the swift uplifting rush

Of quiet birds in circled light.

I am the soft star that shines at night.
