It is with great sadness we say goodbye to Roy Anderson of Calgary, who passed away on Friday, January 16, 2015 at the age of 86 after a courageous battle with cancer.
Roy is survived by Lois Anderson, his beloved wife of 62 years. He is also survived by his nieces, Beth Fish (Susan, David) and Mary Jane Shankel (Peter); nephews, Doug (Liz) and Darcy (Tania) McPhee and their families; sister-in-law, Mary, as well as by family in Manitoba. Roy is predeceased by his son, Roy Brian Anderson in 2007 and his parents, Ernest and Margaret Anderson. Roy was born in Stonewall, MB and moved to Calgary where he joined the Calgary Police Service and enjoyed a 35 year career, retiring in 1987 as an Inspector. Roy enjoyed his retirement travelling the world and golfing with his many friends. He will be sadly missed by all who knew him and remembered for his kind and generous spirit.
A family Memorial Service is to be held. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made directly to the Salvation Army Agape Hospice, 1302 8 Avenue N.W., Calgary, T2N1B8. Expressions of sympathy may be forwarded to the family via the website www.fostersgardenchapel.ca.
