He was born and raised in Toronto, ON, and moved to Calgary, AB, in 1964 with his wife Audrey, and three sons: Wayne, David, and Brian.
It is here in Calgary where he pursued a lifelong career as an insurance underwriter. After more than 30 years, he retired and pursued his love of golf, curling, and travel.
Ronald will be lovingly remembered by his sons Wayne (Sandra), and David (Carol); his grandchildren; Robert, Krista, Tyler (Haley), Alysha, and Brody; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and their families.
He was predeceased by his wife Audrey; his son, Brian; his parents, Dorothy and Edward Abernethy; and his sister, Elaine Keating.
A Funeral Service will be held at Foster’s Garden Chapel, 3220 – 4 Street N.W., Calgary, Alberta (across from Queen’s Park Cemetery) on Wednesday, November 9, 2022, at 2:00 p.m.

A private burial will be held on Thursday, November 10, 2022, at Queen’s Park Cemetery.
