Richard (Rick) William Dickson

It is with profound sorrow that we announce the peaceful passing of Richard William Dickson, affectionately known as Rick, on Friday, June 2, 2023, surrounded by his loving family in hospice, at the age of 69 years.

Though Rick's battle with cancer was short-lived, his unwavering determination to prioritize the well-being of his family remained steadfast. With unwavering strength, he fought the challenging battle, displaying immense courage and doing everything within his power to ensure the happiness and security of his loved ones.

The loss of Rick leaves an irreplaceable void in the life of his beloved wife, Janice, with whom he shared an unbreakable bond. He was an extraordinary father to Jason (Allison) and Brandi (Josh). He was a beacon of love and support to his grandchildren Jenna, Dorian, Alyssa. Rick's siblings, Don (Elaine) and Dalyce (Gord), will forever cherish the bond they shared, and he will be fondly remembered as an adored uncle to Nathan, Ryan, and Dylan.

Born on October 31, 1953, in Calgary, Alberta, Rick was the cherished first-born child of Bill and Shirley Dickson. He dedicated his life to the real estate industry and was to be honoured this year by the Calgary Real Estate Board for his remarkable 50-year tenure as a dedicated realtor.

Rick will forever be remembered for his incredible capacity for kindness and compassion to those who knew him well, especially when the ones he loved needed it most. His doors were always open, and his warm hospitality made everyone feel like family. Among his many talents, Rick's karaoke performances were legendary, as he fearlessly belted out songs, even if the lyrics were a mystery to him.

In accordance with Rick's wishes, a Celebration of Life will be held at the Winston Heights Community Association, 520 27 Ave, Calgary AB on Friday, June 30th, 2023, from 3:00 P.M. to 6:00 P.M., bringing together family and friends to honour his memory.

Although we mourn the loss of Rick, let us also celebrate the abundance of joy he bestowed upon us. His infectious laughter, warm heart, and unwavering love will forever remain etched in our fondest memories. May his spirit shine brightly as we remember and honour the extraordinary life he lived.
