Richard was born in 1933 in Toisan, Guandong, China and immigrated to Canada in 1949. Sue joined him in 1956. He enjoyed a long career in hospitality where he worked incredibly hard to build a wonderful life for his wife and family. He was actively involved in the Chinese community through various clubs and associations, the Calgary Chinese Freemasons and Dat Coon Club to name a few.
He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. He enjoyed travelling, giving back to his community, and spending time with his friends and family.
Besides his wife, Sue, of seventy years, Richard is survived by his sons, Richard and Randall (San), his daughters, Stacey (Tony) and Selina, three grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
He was predeceased by his son, Ronald in January 2006.
The family would like to extend heartfelt thanks to the team at the Bethany Hillside Manor for the compassionate care they provided to Richard.
