Mieczyslaw Lipiec

He was born on 5th of December 1945 in Poland and passed away peacefully on 25th of August 2021 in Calgary at the age of 75 years. Mieczyslaw came to Canada in February 1990 to visit his brother. Here in Calgary met his wife Barbara. They got married on 9th September 1990.

Although his knowledge of English was limited he was not afraid of hard work. Eventually he ran his own construction company doing stucco wire. That work kept him in great physical shape and lasted till he was 66 years old. There he had to retire after injuring his knee at work.

That didn’t stop him from working at his beloved cottage, going fishing, and enjoying life.

He is survived by his wife Barbara; four kids, Beata Kurek, Magdalena Lipiec, Lukasz Bruhl (Jessica), Aleksandra Bruhl (Darryl); nine grandchildren, Monika (Ivan), Michal, Gabriella, Zaydyn, Zaxtyn, Zenyn, Samantha, Charlie, Ellenor; two great-grandchildren, Victoria and Maxim.

A Celebration of Life will be held at SOUTH CALGARY FUNERAL CENTRE, 12700 Macleod Trail South (at Lake Fraser Gate), on Thursday, September 9, 2021 1:00 p.m.

Interment will take place at St. Patrick’s Cemetery at a later date.
