Wang, Ling passed away peacefully at the Arthur JE Child Comprehensive Cancer Centre in Calgary, Alberta, surrounded by her family, on Tuesday, December 3rd, 2024 at the age of 63 years.
Born May 25, 1961 in Shanghai, China, Ling went to Shanghai University for precision instrumentation where she also met Sammy Xi. They married in 1986 and their daughter June was born in 1987. Ling worked in bicycle design for Shanghai Forever Bicycle Group until leaving to join Sammy in Calgary, Alberta, Canada in 1995. She gave birth to their daughter Christine in 2000.
Ling was known for her personable personality and sharp mind. She set an example of working hard and doing the diligence required to ensure high quality work for her daughters and her peers. Ling worked in electrical heat tracing design for oil and gas facilities at Thermon Canada for 24 years.
Ling is survived by her husband Sammy Xi; her daughters June Xi and Christine Xi; her sister Jin Wang, and her brother Shao Long Wang.
Ling is predeceased by her father XinBao Wang and her mother Ping Shao.
