Kerry was a wife to Dana Hungerford, aunt to Joelle (Dustin), Carla (Graeme), Russell (Spencer), Cyrene, Diana and David, a great-aunt to Thomas and Sloane and sister to brother’s Ted Thomas (Vivian) and Kim Thomas.
Kerry was a fun loving, strong willed woman who battled with crippling rheumatoid arthritis, although you would never know it. There was always a deck of cards and a score pad around Kerry's house. Kerry loved to play cards and her and Dana spent many hours sitting at the table playing cards. Kerry and her dad also played for hours with dad always trying to get one game up on Kerry. Persistent as ever Kerry would not quit. Even though the arthritis was in Kerry's hands she persevered and excelled at cross stitching. Many a family member has one of her pieces framed and hanging on a wall somewhere in their house.
Kerry had a long career at Alberta Government Telephones/TELUS where she worked in Calgary, Lethbridge and Drumheller. After completing her duties at AGT/TELUS she ended her career working for the Lloydminster Answering Service. Throughout her career she was recognized for attention to detail and was often asked to train co-workers on newly implemented systems.
Kerry was predeceased by her parents Glyn & Reta Thomas, her younger brother Russell Thomas, her grandparents Pete and Jean Martinson and Edward and Grace Thomas, and Dana’s grandmother Maggie Lener.
The family would like to thank the medical professionals at Foothills Medical Centre and EMT professionals who looked after Kerry. We wish special thanks to Doctor Smith and the many nurses in Unit 112 (Neurology and Neurosurgery) and the Cardiac Intensive Care Unit who provided such professional yet compassionate care to Kerry.
We will all miss Kerry but find comfort that she no longer suffers the pain of the rheumatoid arthritis.
Respecting Kerry's final wishes there will be no service for Kerry.
RIP Kerry Gae Hungerford
Everyone please be safe out there in this crazy world we find ourselves in.
