Living in Yorkton, working as an electrician, he met and married Phyllis Armstrong on Dec 4, 1965. They moved to Calgary where he continued as an electrician until his retirement. They were very involved in square dancing including participating in the Opening Ceremony of the 1988 Calgary Olympic Games. Jim and Phyllis spent many weekends at Glennifer Lake. Upon her passing, Jim continued to enjoy his time at the Lake. Recently his winters were spent in Palm Desert, California.
Jim is survived by his sister, Jeanne Schultz; his nephew, Kurt (Pat) Schultz, their daughters and grandson, Nikki, Shelby and Leo; as well as his niece, Carmen Ewasienko and her daughters, Cynthia and Katherine. He was predeceased by his wife, Phyllis; his parents, Arnold and Florence Noble; his brother, Ken Noble and brother-in-law, Wayne Munroe.
A Celebration of Jim’s Life will be held at Foster’s Garden Chapel, 3220 – 4th Street NW, Calgary (across from Queen’s Park Cemetery), on Saturday, April 21, 2018 at 10:00 a.m., with The Reverend Peggy McDonagh officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations made directly to the Heart & Stroke Foundation, www.heartandstroke.ca, or to the charity of your choice would be appreciated.
