Peacefully with family by his side in Calgary. Loving husband to his wife and best friend of 63 years, Hilda. Beloved and loving father to Ross (Monica), Morag (Jim) and Alistair (Michele), and predeceased daughter Elizabeth. Sadly missed “Papa” of grandchildren Jane, Sara, Ainsley, Peter, Keaton, Alistair. Predeceased by his brother Dr. Alistair Laing.
Devoted to family and a man who cherished his many friendships. His integrity, humility, loyalty, and sense of humour were appreciated by all who knew him. His presence will be missed by many family and friends in the UK and Winnipeg. Throughout his lengthy career as a physician in Winnipeg he was dedicated to his patients. His passion was golf and he was always happy walking “the links.”
A memorial Celebration of Life will take place in Winnipeg at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Society.
