Erin Lianne Donais passed away suddenly on Thursday, July 16, 2020 at the young age of 45 years. She was born in Prince Albert, Saskatchewan on May 21st, 1975. She was enrolled into the French Immersion program when she started her education, and she stayed in the program until graduation, which she completed with honors and distinction. During this period of her life, she grew up in Spruce Home and then moved to Candle Lake. It was in Candle Lake that she met so many of the friends that she retains to this day. It was here also that she acquired the strong work ethic that she used throughout her life to be successful in all of her endeavors.
She then went on to pursue a post-secondary education at the University of Saskatchewan. During her 7 years of study, she attained degrees in both Political Science and English studies.
Upon graduating from university, she opted to take a bit of an adventure and promptly moved to Japan on a contract to teach English. This would end up lasting two years, during which she met a whole new world of friends. After she conquered Japan, she decided to return to Canada, and promptly moved to Calgary. She used the teaching experience gained in Japan to start a teaching job with Omnicom. She ultimately ended up at Eco Canada as the senior manager of training programs.
Erin is survived by her mother Michelle MacNair (Mark Milligan); her stepfather Ken MacNair; her brother Jason Read (Christie Jordan and their 4 children); and her grandmother Betty Donais. She is also survived by her partner Jason Ojoe; her aunt Maureen Bonli (Scott Bonli); uncles David Donais (Melissa), and Tim Donais (Lene Madsen); and 7 cousins.
Erin had many passions in her life which included teaching, writing poetry, music, slo-pitch, travelling, and loved her animal friends. She was very outgoing and enjoyed many social occasions with family and friends. Her smile invariably lit up any room she entered.
Erin has touched the lives of a great many people in her time in this world. She will be well remembered by them all and will be greatly missed.
