It is with profound sadness that we announce the sudden passing of our beloved husband, Dad, "Grandpa Ed" and “Grampy”, on Tuesday, May 12, 2020, one day before his 83rd birthday.
Ed was born in Winnipeg, Manitoba on May 13, 1937. He grew up there, and as a young man became active in the Kildonan Canoe Club. There he met Barbara, and they were married in 1962. Ed and Barbara moved to Calgary, Alberta in 1967 and their two daughters came along soon after. Ed was a successful entrepreneur and enjoyed what he did so much that he was only convinced to fully retire in 2018. He took pride in his neatly-kept yard, and enjoyed traveling, a good steak, and get togethers with friends, and especially with his family.
Ed will be deeply missed by his wife of 57 years, Barbara; his daughters Cheryl (Dan) and Karen (Richard); and his five treasured grandchildren, Alexander, Hilary, Ethan, Elliot and Nolan. Ed also leaves behind numerous extended family members and friends.
A private family gathering was held at Foster’s Garden Chapel on Friday, May 15, 2020.
