Christina was born in Kolkata, India on January 27, 1939. She married Stephen Anthony Liao and had three daughters, Christine Annabel, Katherine Angela, and Mary Elizabeth. She later married Bryan Keith Gooding and welcomed their son, Jason Kyle, to the family.
Christina is survived by her sisters: Yang Fei, Yang Ha, Yang Fong and Yang Fung; her brothers Tien Chein, Tien Wei, and their families; her children: Christine Annabel, Katherine Angela (Jeffrey), Mary Elizabeth (Henry), and Jason (Andrea); her grandchildren: Dominic Martin, Gabriele Marie, Alexander Luc and Everett Jacob Bramwell. Christina is predeceased by her parents, Huang Lin Sheng and Yang Chiao Yun, and her youngest brother, Tien Chok.
Christina was deeply proud of her Chinese (Hakka) cultural roots, and she loved painting, travelling, dancing, food, hiking, and nature. She was a deeply spiritual person finding faith in Christianity and Buddhism. Christina was a talented artist, sharing her joy and appreciation of nature through her paintings which adorn her families’ homes. She made enduring friendships with her painting, hiking and snow shoeing companions.
A Funeral Service will be held at Foster’s Garden Chapel, 3220 – 4 Street N.W., Calgary, Alberta (across from Queen’s Park Cemetery) on Monday, January 31, 2022 at 1:45 PM with viewing beginning at 1:00 PM to 1:45 PM.
