Bonnie Lillian Jones

June 5, 1939 - February 12, 2013

With her family by her side, Bonnie Jones passed away peacefully on Tuesday, February 12, 2013 at the age of 73 years. Bonnie will be lovingly remembered by her children Laura Jones (Mike Pears), Tracy Jones (Wayne Andrew), Russell Jones (Courtney Knippshild) and Lynn Rippe. She will also be missed and remembered by sisters Jean Duncan (predeceased Tom), Joyce (Glenn) Alexander and Marion Gilmer (predeceased Don); brother Gordon (Anita) Young; as well as grandchildren Cameron and Cole Rippe. She will also be missed by Richard Jones; Eric Rippe; numerous nephews and nieces; and special furry friends Ellie, Lu and George. Bonnie was pre-deceased by her loving granddaughter Amy Kjaer, her sister Margaret Mack and her best friend Judith Moro-Winer. She was born in Montreal in 1939 to Jean and James Young. Bonnie lived a full and joyous life, working hard and raising her family. In later years she enjoyed her numerous passions: spending time with her family (in particular attending her grandchildren’s sporting events); gardening; decorating and design; puzzles; pets; laughs and lunches with her friends. The family would like to extend our sincere appreciation to Dr. Kidd, Dr. Boucher, nurses and staff at the Foothills Medical Centre on the CV-ICU for the wonderful care given to our Mom. A Celebration of Bonnie’s Life will be held at FOSTER’S GARDEN CHAPEL, 3220 – 4 Street N.W., Calgary (across from Queen’s Park Cemetery) on Thursday, February 28, 2013 at 3:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Bonnie’s honour may be made to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, #204, 1608 – 17 Avenue SW, Calgary AB T2T 0E3 or to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Alberta, #200, 119 – 14 Street NW, Calgary AB T2N 1Z6.
