It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Barbara Harriet Anderson on Friday, August 25, 2023 in Red Deer, Alberta, at the age of 76 years. Barbara was born September 17, 1946 in Ephrata, Washington, to Philo & Velma Pesicka. Her first marriage brought her to Canada in the 60’s, where she settled in BC and started a family. In the 80s, she eventually ended up in Calgary, where she met and married her husband Dinger (Don.)
Barb had a great passion for arts and crafts but her special love was for sewing where she was an exceptional seamstress. You could also find her in the garden, whether it be in Calgary or at the lake in Kaslo, it was definitely her happy place. Barbara was an old school country music fan, over the years she accumulated an extensive collection of music and spending her 70th birthday at the Dolly Parton concert in Calgary, was a gift like no other!
Barbara is survived by her children, Wendy (Rick) and Joe (Nicole); brother Philo, sister Juanita, as well as grandchildren, great-grandchildren, extended family and many friends.
She is predeceased by her husband Don (2019), son Troy (1994), and grandson Joey (1991.)
The family would like to extend their deepest appreciation to all the staff at Timberstone Mews and Red Deer Palliative Care, who lovingly cared for Barb during her final days.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Alberta SPCA or the Calgary Humane Society.
At Barbara’s request, there will be no service.
