Annie Yee

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, grandmother and great grandmother Annie Moon Yung Yee, on Thursday, March 24, 2022 in Calgary, Alberta, at the age of 85 years.

Annie was predeceased by her husband of 71 years Paul MC Yee in 2020. She will be missed by her sons David Yee (Marie) of Calgary, Tony Yee (Janice) of Edmonton, daughter Marge Nichol (Blake) of Calgary; grandchildren Jonathan, Christina (Mike), Ryan, Taylor, Avery and Michael; and great grandchildren Jacob and Emily. She is also survived by her nephews Raymond, Dennis and Albert Ho, and their families, all of Calgary. Annie was predeceased by her father Woon Ho in 1971, her mother Yuck Cheung Ho in 1980 and her brother Wor Ho in 1992.

Annie was born in Kaiping, Guangdong, China on May 15, 1936. She married Paul on August 6, 1949. She immigrated with their oldest son David to Canada in February 1965 from Hong Kong to reunite with her husband who came to Canada in 1953. She began working at CanaDay’s Apparel as a seamstress in Moose Jaw, SK. She and her husband worked hard to provide for their family. Annie and Paul then moved to Calgary in 2003 in their retirement. In her spare time Annie enjoyed playing Mahjong with her friends and they both loved to travel with their friends. She will always be remembered for her kindness and love for her family.

Annie will be fondly remembered and sadly missed by all.

A Family Funeral Service will be held at Foster’s Garden Chapel, 3220 – 4 Street N.W., Calgary (across from Queen’s Park Cemetery) on Wednesday, March 30, 2022 at 2:00pm.

Interment will follow immediately after at Queen’s Park Cemetery.
