Aileen Elizabeth Ireland

Aileen Elizabeth Ireland passed away peacefully with her family by her side at Southwood Hospice in Calgary, Alberta on Thursday, October 22, 2015 at the age of 82 years. Aileen is lovingly remembered by her daughter Heather and spouse Harry; Heather's step-son Chris, spouse Corinne and their children Trifon, Christian and Carson; son Jeff; and son John, spouse Pam and their sons Alex and Sheldon. She is also remembered by her son-in-law Roger Carbert and his two sons Chris and Trevor; Chris’s spouse Krista and their children Isabella and Julianna; as well as Trevor’s spouse Odessa and son Gage. She is also survived by her siblings Jack Spillman and his wife Shirley; Jim Enns; Peggy Krol and her husband Gary; as well as numerous relatives and friends. Aileen was predeceased by her husband Henry Alexander, daughter Holly Carbert and parents John Spillman and Elizabeth Thompson. The family wishes to extend a special thanks to the Calgary Home Care Services and the doctors and staff of the Southwood Hospice for the care, compassion and guidance given to our mother. A Celebration of Aileen’s Life will be held at FOSTER’S GARDEN CHAPEL, 3220 – 4 Street N.W., Calgary (across from Queen’s Park Cemetery) on Wednesday, October 28, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. If friends so desire, memorial donations may be made directly to the Canadian Cancer Society, 200 Isabella Street, Suite 305, Ottawa ON, K1S 1V7.
