Mike is survived by his mother, Lila Peters; children Lila and Jason Link, Rob Peters, Joe Peters, Brian Peters; grandchildren Eden Demisse and Savanah Peters; siblings Linda and Kevin Engbers of Sioux Falls, South Dakota, and Wayne and Gretchen Peters; and many nieces and nephews.
Mike was a strong-willed guy; he didn’t mind telling you what he thought. That strong will also came through as toughness in his battle with cancer. He never complained about the pain his family knew he was enduring. Mike enjoyed the outdoors. When the kids were young, summer vacations were camping at Gun Lake or at cottages on Barlow or Green Lake. He enjoyed pheasant hunting with his favorite dog, “Cookie.” While hunting went by the wayside, his love for fishing never waned; he especially like crappie fishing and trolling for pike. He worked as a truck driver, both over the road and locally. Most of his career was with Spartan Nash. His friends at the truck stop knew him as “Spartan Mike,” both because of his career and his favorite college team.
