Michael James Hickey

Michael James Hickey, age 67, passed away Friday August 12, 2022. Mike was born in Grand Rapids to William and Eileen Hickey. He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers-in-law Duane Wolf and Gregory Wolf. Mike will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 44 years, Susan; children Justin (Sarah) Hickey, Tara (Jeremiah) Jones; granddaughters Payton, Quinn, and Sorin Hickey; grandsons Maxwell and Coleman Jones. He is also remembered by his brother, Dan (Diane) Hickey; sisters Mary Beth (Leo) Venturini, and Julie Wolf; sister-in-law, Linda Wolf; brothers-in-law Robert (Therese) Wolf and Michael (Deb) Wolf; and sister-in-law, Kathryn (Michael) Figueroa. Many aunts and uncles, nieces and nephews, cousins and friends.

Mike was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend. Nothing gave him more pride or joy than being a grandpa; his grandchildren were the light of his life. Mike enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, always putting loved ones before himself. He especially loved the outdoors, spending time hunting, fishing, golfing, being at the lake, and cheering on Notre Dame rugby and football.

A Mass will be held at the Basilica of Sacred Heart at the University of Notre Dame (101 Basilica Dr., Notre Dame, Indiana 46556) 3:30 p.m. Monday, September 19, 2022. A gathering for family and friends will be held from 2-3 p.m. at Seven on 9 at Corbett Family Hall (390 Corbett Family Hall, Notre Dame, IN 46556.)
