Bernice VanDyke, age 87 of Byron Center, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family Saturday, November 2, 2024. Bernice was preceded in death by her loving husband Peter; parents Edmund and Arlene Taylor; stepmother, Emma Stocks; and sisters Gloria Music, Evelyn Lewis, and Mary Alice Golisch. She is survived by her loving children Debra (Gordy) Alles, Denise Kuipers, and Peter D. (Beth) VanDyke; grandchildren Brent (Camille) Alles, Kent (Julia) Alles, Dr. Jaime (John) Laezza, Mary (Chris) Dexter, Kim (Scott) Koter, Andrew (Stephanie) Kuipers, Perry (Hannah) Kuipers Jr., Jackson VanDyke; and many great-grandchildren. She is also survived by sisters Lelia Wilhoit, Tootie (Dick) Brewer; and brother, Frank (Jessie) Brix; and many nieces and nephews.
Bernice was a wonderful homemaker who took great care of her family. She worked last at Grand Greetings for the Haaksma family and enjoyed it so much she continued until she was 82!

The Mass of Christian burial will be held 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, November 12, 2024 at St. Sebastian Catholic Church, 9408 Wilson Ave. SW, Byron Center, MI, with Msgr. William Duncan celebrant. Relatives and friends may meet with Bernice’s family from 9-10:15 a.m.
