Barbara Becksvoort, age 95, passed away peacefully Tuesday, September 24, 2024. Barb was born January 16, 1929 to William and Grace Overway. She married Harvey Becksvoort March 7, 1947 and raised two sons, Bill and Bob Becksvoort.
She was a member of Calvary Reformed Church in Holland until they moved to Grand Rapids, where she became a member of Covenant CRC in Cutlerville. Barb worked at Pine Rest Christian Hospital for many years and following her retirement, enjoyed volunteering at Bibles for Mexico. She enjoyed boating on Lake Michigan and Gun Lake, while raising her family, and camping at Sandy Pines during her retirement.
She will lovingly be remembered by her children Bill (Susan) Becksvoort and Bob (Marilyn) Becksvoort; grandchildren Jami (Eric) Alferink, Chad Becksvoort, Adam Becksvoort, and Scott Becksvoort; siblings Bill (Carolyn) Overway, Rog (Sharon) Overway; and many nieces and nephews. Barb was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Harvey; brothers Ed Overway, Marvin Overway, Juke Overway, and sister, Bea Kragt and their spouses.
A memorial service will be held at a later date with burial at Restlawn Cemetery in Holland. The family requests in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions be made in Barb’s honor, to the charity of your choice.
