Allen N. Hales, age 96, went to be with his Lord Wednesday, May 10, 2023. He was preceded in death by his wife, Esther Hales; sister, Marilyn and Clifford Wilson; many in-laws; granddaughter, Kimberly Moody.
He will be lovingly remembered by his children David (Connie) Hales and Debra (Bryan) Smith; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews, and special friends.
Allen was born and raised in Ontonagon, Michigan. He served as a Staff Sergeant in the U.S Army and was a WWII Veteran. He was stationed in Gmunden, Austria. He attended Ferris Institute and earned his accounting degree after his military service. He met the love of his life, Esther Martz, while attending college. Allen married Esther and had two children. Most of all, Allen loved his family and friends. His children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren were the greatest accomplishments in his life.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11 a.m. Monday, May 15, 2023 at St. John Vianney Catholic Church, 4101 Clyde Park Ave SW, Wyoming, MI 49509, with visitation beginning at 10 a.m.
