Patsy was a devoted widow of her husband, Robert Dunn Jr., whom she loved and missed since his passing in 2015. A loving momma of 7 kids whom she raised together with her husband, teaching how to pray and how to live off the land. She loved to can fresh vegetables from the garden and cook-red beans, cornbread and fried potatoes became some of her family’s favorite meals; not to leave out her sweet ice tea.
Her first job was at Walgreens in Odessa, Texas, where she was a soda fountain girl at the age of 17. That’s where she met the love of her life after a big silver dollar tip, it was love at first sight. Off to elope in Lovington, New Mexico and thus started her family.
Patsy was preceded by her father, Walter Wallace Niell and her mother, Willie Mae Butrom Niell. Five sisters, Ethel, Sue, Doris, Dovie and Billie, 2 brothers, Charles and Jack Niell. Two half-brothers, Louis and JE Niell and three half-sisters, Benita, Temperance and May Niell. Patsy is also preceded in the death by her husband of 61 years (1955-2015), Robert Dunn Jr. along with a host of the Dunn in-laws.
Patsy worked as a cook for many years at Dairy Queen, Action Barn and at Czech American in West, TX. She also worked at Boomtown Casino in Reno, NV.
Hobbies for Patsy included reading her Bible, going to church, crossword search puzzles, and for fun bingo and dominoes. She also enjoyed watching movies with her daughter, Patty. Patsy also enjoyed a good juicy T-bone steak, a good hamburger with sliced onions, along with an ice cold Pepsi or a sweet ice tea. On Friday’s, Patty would fix fish with homemade tarter sauce. She also enjoyed a good turkey sandwich from the Red and White Store in Bartlett, TX.
Patsy also loved to sing and dance. She loved to say the Lord’s Prayer with her children everyday either in person or on the phone.
Pasty is survived by her 7 children, 5 boys and 2 girls. Patty Fulton and family of Davilla, TX; Robbin Dunn of Georgetown, TX.; Johnny Dunn and family of Waco, TX.; Edgar Neal Dunn and Eleana of Cameron, Texas and family; Timothy Dunn and wife, Dixcey and family of Rowlett, TX.; Brenda Fisher and husband Alfred and family of Georgetown, TX.; and Shawn Dunn and Kathy of Davilla, TX. She is also survived by a host of nieces and nephews. She is also survived by cousins and loving in laws, Vivian Vanzandt of Amarillo, TX; Clark Dunn of WY; and Chanae Denwitz of AZ.
Patsy is also survived by 9 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren, whom she loved very much. Patsy went to all their sporting events and any other events the grandkids were in.
