Joseph D Minton, born July 17, 1984 to Austin and LaVerne Minton, passed away May 14, 2023 surrounded by friends and family. He is survived by his parents, younger sister Andrea, two daughters Madison and Emma, fiancé Kristy, multiple nieces and nephews, and along with many aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Joseph was a complicated man. He had his struggles in life like all of us do, but he seemed to always be smiling on his good days. He had so many friends who loved him and he made an impact on this world.
Joseph graduated from Burnet High School in 2002 and worked and lived in Burnet County the majority of his life.
He loved to go fishing on his days off, and maybe even played hooky to fish if the weather was right.
His favorite thing to do was to spend time teaching Madison and Emma how to ride their bikes, scooters and even roller skating. They would go fishing and camping, or just out swimming for the day at Inks Lake. He loved his girls fiercely and was very protective of his family.
Joseph and his fiancé Kristy were together for nearly 2 years. They loved cooking shows, cooking together, and their favorite spot was at Lakeside Park Marble Falls where he proposed.
If Joseph wasn't fishing you could usually find him inside whipping up the perfect jerky recipe or outside refining his BBQ talents. Joseph had picked up knife forging in the last few years and enjoyed hanging with his "Truck Gang" whenever he could.
As an avid Longhorn fan, you hardly ever saw him without burnt orange on and listening to or watching the football game on Saturdays.
Joseph will be remembered as a loving father, brother, son, uncle and friend who will be missed every single day. The hole you have left in our hearts burns orange for you, Hook'em Brother.
Memorial service will be held for family and friends at the Lake Victor Community Center on Sunday June 4, 2023 at 2pm.
In lieu of flowers the family ask that you make a donation in Joseph's name to His Joshua House, A Faith-Based Drug & Alcohol Recovery House for Men or the Texas Humane Heroes where he and Kristy recently adopted Vanilla, their dog.
