Yankee was one of a kind and always the life of the party. He loved people and never met a stranger. Once you became his friend, it was for a lifetime.
He was a jack of all trades. He worked as a truck driver, horse trainer, concrete finisher, you name it, and he probably did it. He could build just anything he put his mind to, just look at his 50 foot tower he and his brother built at his place in Tobeyville.
Yankee was very proud of his place in Tobeyville and always had the most beautiful yard around. He always threw the most memorable parties there and if you ever attended one, you never forgot it!
One of the most important things to him were his family and his friends. All you had to do was call him and he would be there to do whatever it was or to lend an ear.
Yankee is survived by his daughter, Robyn Meeks and husband Trevor of Burnet, his beloved dog Dakota of Burnet, nephews Johnny Robbins and wife, Teresa and family of Arizona. Cliff Robbins and wife, Lisa and family of California, Robbie Robbins and wife Sandy and family of California, niece Trina Robbins and family of Goldthwaite, Texas, cousin Chuck Robbins and wife Nancy and family of Iowa and so many more family and dear friends that he loved as family.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Fred Albert Robbins Sr. and Edith Mae Robbins, his brother Fred Albert Robbins Jr., and his son, Gerald Leonard “Bubba” Robbins Jr.
Yankee was truly one of a kind and will be missed so very much by all. There will be a Celebration of Life held on Saturday June 25, 2022 at 3:00pm at his daughter, Robyn’s home located at 1969 Co. Rd 340 Burnet, Texas. Please come out and drink a Miller Lite in his honor and celebrate his life.
