Deborah Juanette Ringstaff Samuels, age 65, passed away on Thursday, June 16, 2022. Deborah was born in Burnet, Texas to Thomas Glenn Ringstaff and Ava Joyce Ringstaff Spiekermann. Deborah is survived by her children: Cheyenne Baker, Cole Baker and Lauren Baker Creeden; grandchildren, Cody Creeden and Grace Creeden; and father, Glenn Ringstaff. She has many loved aunts, uncles, cousins, step-brother, step-sister, nieces and nephews. Proceeding her in death her daughter, Savannah Lee Samuels; mother, Ava Joyce Spiekermann; grandmothers, Ava Euginea Hinds and Angie Laverne Ringstaff; grandfathers, Eugene Oran Hinds and William Stanley Ringstaff; and brother, Glenn Oran Ringstaff.
Deborah graduated from Burnet High School in 1975. In high school she was a cheerleader, voted most beautiful, and made forever friends. She later continued her education and was a graduate of Texas Women’s University with a Bachelor of Science degree in English.
Deborah loved an adventure. She loved traveling and discovering different cultures, music, gardens, arts and making new friends. She had life-long friends that she loved. She truly enjoyed a good game of cards or trivial pursuit. Those that really knew Deborah will tell you “never bet against her she will always come out on top”. Deborah was a researcher and discoverer of new ideas and answers. She loved learning and had her nose in a book, of all genres, all her life. While home, if she wasn’t reading, she was in her garden. Her gardens have always brought her a great sense of peace.
Deborah was the mother, caretaker, passionate advocate and voice for, her daughter, Savannah Samuels and the Aicardi Syndrome Foundation. She supported many fundraisers and benefits for Savannah’s school, Rosedale.
Deborah was a member of the Daughters of the Republic of Texas as well as the Daughters of the American Revolution. She feverishly researched and yearned for information on her family genealogy.
Deborah loved her family. She enjoyed hanging out around the family ranch with her Daddy, Brother, her Kids, Family and Friends telling old stories, cutting up, dancing, singing and listening to the old country songs at impromptu picking parties… “Good Times…”
The family would like to thank, from the bottom of our hearts, Matt Cullum and Ronda Turner for graciously being at our Mom’s side while navigating the last few years of caretaking, friendship and carrying out her pursuit of happiness.
“You live on in our blood just as those before you. Our pioneer spirit will guide us too. From my mother, to me, to my children, to theirs you live on in our minds and our daily affairs. Your tenacity and strength were WAY beyond norm. This energy won’t die, it will only change form.”
