Dale E. Marks

Dale E. Marks, age 74, Burnet, Texas (Lake Buchanan) and beloved husband of Betty Marks passed away December 3, 2010, after a twelve year battle with several cancers. Dale was born in Flint, Michigan on September 3, 1936 to Edward Frederick Marks and Fern Elizabeth (Dusseau) Marks.

Early in his childhood, Dale moved to Adrian, Michigan where he graduated from Adrian High School in 1955. He served in the U.S. Army from 1959 to 1962 and received an honorable discharge at Fort Sill, Oklahoma. Dale met his wife, Betty at Fort Sill and they were later married in Lawton, Oklahoma in 1961. They moved to Texas in 1962 to start their life together and lived in Grapevine for 33 years where they raised their two sons. Dale and Betty retired in 1997 to Lake Buchanan near Burnet.

Dale loved the outdoors; fishing, hunting, traveling, motorcycling, motorsports, and most of all, spending quality time with his two sons.

He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Betty Marks; two sons Jeffrey Paul Marks and wife Mindy Walker-Marks and Brian John Marks; one brother Jack Righter and two sisters Diane Flippo and Sally Linger; one grandson Bristol Dale Marks. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Dale was preceded in death by his parents.

Visitation will be held from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. Sunday, December 5, 2010 at Clements-Wilcox Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 A.M. Monday, December 6, 2010 at the Clements-Wilcox Funeral in with Rev. Buddy Johnston officiating.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Christ Yoder Animal Adoption Center 9150 W. Ranch Road 1431 Buchanan Dam, TX. 78609.
