Cora Ann Brown passed away on August 4, 2023 at the age of 70. She was the youngest daughter of Orville Raymond and Cora Capitola McDonald Raymond. Cora Ann grew up in Burnet, Texas and graduated from Burnet High School. Some of her fondest memories growing up revolved around her family time at the family restaurant, Storms.
Cora Ann resided in Jonestown and Lago Vista, Texas for much of her adult life. She spent time on the Jonestown City Council and operated a Salon in Lago Vista for many years. Cora Ann loved living on Lake Travis and spent many hours with family enjoying activities such as fishing, camping and looking for arrowheads. When she was not busy with work, Cora Ann was an excellent cook! She enjoyed cooking for her family and looked forward to large holiday gatherings.
She is survived by her husband, Charlie Brown, two children, Brandie Hendryx and Brandon Shank, two stepchildren, Dana Sanchez and Scott Brown, seven grandchildren, Sydney, Ayden, Sierra, Ashton, Emma, Gracie and Bethanie. She was preceded in death by her parents Cora Capitola McDonald Raymond, Orville Raymond, and sister Freddie Kay Rice.
Graveside services will be held at 10:00 am Wednesday, August 9, 2023 at the Bluffton Cemetery in Bluffton, Texas. In lieu of flowers, a memorial to Cora’s name can be made to Mental Health America of Greater Dallas (https://mhadallas.org/donate).
