She loved to ice skate with her sister at the local park pond when it froze over every winter. Later she continued to watch Olympic ice skating.
Alma met and married the love of her life JL Miller who swept her away to Texas when she was just 17.
She wore many hats, loved to stay busy, and be in charge. She ran many restaurants in Temple. Her husband JL loved her meat and potato dishes every evening and Alma enjoyed baking and cooking for her family and friends.
Alma loved the sun and water at all times. She was well known for her want of a tidy home and a pristine appearance. Her hair was always fixed, make up was done, and jewelry on. She loved to read crime novels (Patterson was her favorite) and crossword puzzles. She loved rodeos, dancing, and quilting for her entire family. Alma was very involved in her church and women’s clubs through her church in Bangs.
She loved all the times that she was able to get together at family reunions, BBQ’s, and holiday times to see her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren grow and play.
Shew always had a cup of black coffee or hot tea with a pinch of sugar and absolutely had a sweet tooth and loved her hard caramel or butterscotch candy.
In her final days she loved her family and was surrounded by love.
Survivors include her children James Leslie Miller and Tamara Lee Hardin, brother Richard Tucker and grandchildren Noah Dean Hanks, Heather Hanks, Keegan Hanks, Jordan Hanks, Lacey Miller, and twins Candace and Jarrett Miller. She is survived also by over 10 great and great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents Robert Tucker, Margaret Mary Irish Tucker Kransky and Vern Kransky. Also by her daughter Lois Elaine Miller Hanks, grandson Chance Miller, brother Larry Tucker and sisters Betty Riley, Ellen Zellie, and Myrna Hurrick.
The visitation for family and friends will be held at 9 AM Tuesday March 29 at Clements-Wilcox Funeral Home in Burnet with funeral service at 10 AM. Burial will follow at Senterfitt Cemetery in Lometa at approximately 12:30 PM.
