It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Vincenza “Enza” Cavallo on April 20, 2024 at the age of 88 years. She is predeceased by her beloved husband Gerardo and her sister Giancarla. She is survived by her loving daughter Rosanna (Richard), son Tony (Sarah), her grandchildren Paul, Eric, Amanda along with her sisters Tina (Filippo) and Ortenzia and many extended family members. Taking a big step in accepting Gerardo’s marriage proposal, she emigrated to Vancouver in 1960 from Montemiletto, Italy and began building a family life in East Vancouver. Along with Gerardo, she cherished her kids, extended family, neighbours, paesanos, and church community. Closest family and friends notably remember her sweet, wise, kind spirit and her range of talents—impeccable sewing, handicraft, and country cooking. As well as cherishing her family, friends, and community, she also loved Italian card games, bocce, gardening with her husband, and picnics. Along with her sweet nature and talents, Vincenza will be remembered as someone who wanted only the best for her children and others. Visitations will be held Thursday, May 2, 2024 from 6:30 to 8pm at Bell and Burnaby Funeral Chapel, 4276 Hastings Street, Burnaby. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, May 3, 2024 at 11am at Holy Cross Parish, 1450 Delta Avenue, Burnaby. Entombment to follow at South Mausoleum Ocean View Burial Park Burnaby, 4000 Imperial Street. In lieu of flowers, prayers for her soul or donations to the BC Heart and Stroke Foundation can be made.
