Mrs. Nives Assunta Burlo

August 24, 1933 - December 2, 2024

Nives passed away on December 2, 2024 after a short illness. She was born in Altivole, Treviso, Italy on August 24, 1933. She was the eldest of 5 daughters born to Corrado (Guido) and Giuseppina (Albina) Andreazza. Nives was predeceased by her parents, her four sisters, her husband Stelio and her son-in-law Mario.

NIves married Stelio on March 21, 1959 and came to Canada to join her husband in July 1959. She became mom to 8 year old Teresa and the small family grew once again with the birth of their son Paolo (Paul) in August 1960.

She leaves behind her children Paul (Felicia) and Teresa. She was a loving grandmother (nonna) to Christina (Jan), Sandra (Danny), Dennis (Polyana), Justine (Andrew) and Chloe (Nicholas), and great-grandmother (bisnonna) to Isaac, Elle, Grace, Hannah, Sophie and Mia. She also leaves behind her brother-in-law Luigino Baldisser and many nieces, nephews and cousins in Italy.

Nives spent most of her life in Canada working in various Italian delis - Girardi's, Olivieri's and Bosa Foods. She became a well-known figure in these establishments and in her later years took great pride in being recognized almost anywhere as "the lady from....." She will be missed by many,

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Holy Cross Parish, 1450 Delta Avenue, Burnaby on Saturday, December 14th, 2024 at 12:30 pm. followed by Entombment at Forest Lawn Memorial Park Garden Mausoleum, 3789 Royal Oak Avenue, Burnaby.

Nives requested that instead of flowers, for those who wish, a donation be made to the Canadian Diabetes Association.
