Mr. Michael Raj Roop

Michael passed away surrounded by family on July 7, 2022. He was born in Suva, Fiji on December 26, 1962 to Ram Roop and Sukhdei Roop and was the youngest of 14 siblings. He was a devoted and loving father to his four daughters, Joanna Atienza, Rosanna Roop, Latisha Chand, and Elisha Kumar. Also missing his love and presence are his grandchildren, Isla and Elijah Atienza, and his son in laws Marvin Atienza, Radesh Chand & Shalesh Kumar. Michael enjoyed being outdoors, camping, fishing, crabbing and going for walks and cruises in his car. He was well known for keeping himself fit, he loved to work out and had a passion for classic cars. His restored 1967 Lincoln Continental was his pride and joy. Michael had a presence that was felt wherever he went, and his sense of humour and vibrant energy will be greatly missed. He will be remembered as kind and generous, someone who loved to help others, and for his larger-than-life personality.

A Visitation (Viewing) for Michael will be held on Thursday, July 21 from 4:30pm-6:30pm.

The Funeral Service for Michael will be held at Forest Lawn Funeral Home Chapel (3789 Royal Oak Ave., Burnaby BC) on Friday, July 22 at 10:00am-11:30am followed by the graveside burial at Forest Lawn Memorial Park.

A Reception will follow at 2:00pm at the Polish Community Centre located at 4015 Fraser St Vancouver, BC V5V 4E6 on Friday, July 22.

Flowers can be sent to Forest Lawn Funeral Home Chapel (3789 Royal Oak Ave., Burnaby BC) for delivery on Thursday July 21, before 3:00pm.
