It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Matilde S. Lim on October 27, 2024. Matilde “Baby” was born in Tondo, Manila and grew up in Quezon City. She was preceded by her parents Lucia and Maximino Salvador, and her son Alexander Matthew “BJ” Lim. She is survived by her thoughtful and loving husband Arcie and children Anthony Mark “AJ” (Mina), Arcie Jose Jr. “CJ” (Esabelle) and her siblings; Elsa, Remy (Rudy), Luz (Noel), Beth (Carlos), Maximina and Deogracias.
Matilde married Arcie in 1978 and enjoyed more than 46 wonderful and blissful years together. She will be sadly missed by her own grandchildren Alla and Aqqa as well as uncles, aunties, cousins, nephews and nieces, and several grandchildren.
Matilde was an Accountant by profession and worked with various companies, including The Hudson Bay and Polygon Group of Companies. She was active in her parish (St. Joseph), school and community at large. She was a Catechist (PREP and RCIA), lector, Extraordinary minister and choir member. She was a member of CFC, a past president of CWL and a member of the Legion of Mary. Matilde was also a past president of Circulo Pampangueno of BC and a former secretary of the Friends of Sto. Nino Association of BC. She enjoyed many travels, especially pilgrimages, with her family and friends.
Prayer and viewing will be held on Friday, November 8, 2024 from 5-7pm at Ocean View Funeral Home, 4000 Imperial St., Burnaby, BC. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on November 9, 2024 at 10am at St. Joseph’s Parish, 1612 E. 18th Avenue, Vancouver, BC. Interment will follow at 12:00 noon on November 9th at Ocean View Burial Park – Heaven’s Gate Section, 4000 Imperial St., Burnaby, BC.
