It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our dear mother and grandmother Marjorie McKee (Gildroy) after a brave battle with cancer. Predeceased by her husband Ian McKee (2011), she is survived by her son, Craig, daughter Theresa (Jason) and granddaughters Stephanie and Jessica. She also leaves behind her brothers Terry (Ellen), Bill (Jean) and Joseph, as well as her nieces and nephew.
Marjorie was born and raised in Vancouver, BC, and worked as a Psychiatric Nurse for many years at Essendale, Riverview, Woodlands and the Finnish Manor Rest Home. She was very active in her church, St. Francis de Sales, participating in the Catholic Women’s League, St. Vincent de Paul and her prayer group. She would help wherever needed and made many dear friends. She loved serving her community, a good book and working on crossword puzzles.
We are grateful to the Oncology Department at Burnaby Hospital and the staff at St. Michael’s Hospice for helping through her journey. In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate a donation made to the Burnaby Hospital Foundation in her memory (https://www.bhfoundation.ca/).
