Lai Ping Ng

Lai Ping is survived by her husband, Shu Chow NG; children, Tony, Matthew, Miranda, and Janita; grandchildren, Edwin, Mandy, Maggie, Monica, Jonathan, Christopher, Janelle, and Gideon; great grandchildren, Hazie, and Noel.

Lai Ping was born in China and was brought up in Hong Kong. She had an arranged marriage, at the age of 17, that led to 71 years of happy marriage. Lai Ping moved to Canada with her husband in 1992 and enjoyed living in Vancouver since. She had the love of nature, enjoyed travelling and took pleasure in cooking. Lai Ping had dedicated her life in serving others, family, extended family, and in-laws. She was an excellent counsellor for the family. Her valuable counsel would be sought whenever her children or grandchildren faced problems and difficulties. “Satisfied with what one has” was Lai Ping’s life motto.

Her husband considered Lai Ping a wife of noble character as described in Proverbs 31:10-12, “A wife of noble character who can find? She is worth far more than rubies. Her husband has full confidence in her and lacks nothing of value. She brings him good, not harm, all the days of her life.”

我至愛的太太，七十一年來與我並肩的戰友伍麗萍，在2023年1月9日被主接回天家。亨年88歲。 我們育有五子女、九個孫兒和兩個曾孫。

麗萍在中國出生和在香港長大。十七歲奉父母之命與我成婚，至今已經渡過七十一個年頭。我們在1992年移居加拿大，享受退休生活。麗萍喜愛大自然，看見特別艷麗的花朵便會喜上眉梢。 她也熱愛旅遊，在過去四十多年，我們攜手出遊，不覺已經遊歷過二十多個國家。

麗萍一生都不斷服侍人，處處先為別人設想，願意為家庭和兒孫作出犧牲。 麗萍是一位無微不至的母親、呵護備至的祖母及提供支持的伙伴。她活出了箴言形容的賢妻：「才德的婦人誰能得着呢？ 她的價值遠勝過珍珠。 她丈夫心裏倚靠她， 必不缺少利益； 她一生使丈夫有益無損。」（箴言‬ ‭31:10-12）‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬

Cremation witnessing is scheduled at 11:30am at West Coast Crematorium on 3789 Royal Oak Ave, Burnaby (located in Forest Lawn).

A reception at 12:30pm will be held at Golden Swan Restaurant（金天鵝）on 5380 Victoria Drive, Vancouver. Pastor Anne Lu（盧增蓮傳道）will officiate the ceremony.
