With deep sorrow, the family announces the passing of our beloved Mom and Grandmother, Lai Kuen (Kin). Born in SunWui, Guangdong, China, she arrived in White Rock on August 29, 1953 with husband Bak Kay (Danny) when they were just newlyweds. They settled and raised a family in Victoria before moving to Richmond in 1988. Unequivocal was her pride and joy in her tight-knit brood. Predeceased by husband Bak Kay in 1999 and daughter Julie in 2003. Fondly remembered by caring sons Henry (Evelyn), Bak (Kob), Jim (Tess), Jeff (Sujin) and grandchildren Justin, Kendra, Tessa, Bryce, Logan, Natalie and Kaitlin. Also survived by brother Leung Kwok On and family in Hong Kong. Thanks to the healthcare team at Richmond General for their compassion and professionalism. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm, Ocean View Burial Park (4000 Imperial St. Burnaby) on Thursday, March 29. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Richmond General Hospital.
