Joe Rosa

Joe is survived by his devoted wife Irma, his sons Julio and Bruno (Clare) and grandchildren Alex and Dee Dee, his sister Maria (Alessio, deceased) and her daughters Sandra and Linda, his brother Mike and his children Natalie, Robert and Tania, his sister-in-law Lina and her sons Dario and Dino. He was predeceased by his brother Giovanni. He will be missed by many friends here in Vancouver and abroad.

Joe was born in Rovigno Istria, Italy on March 16, 1932. As a young man, he and his entire family left Italy and eventually settled in Vancouver.

In 1953, Joe met the love of his life Irma. In 1969, together they founded their own family business. Both his sons, grandson and granddaughter continue their legacy, which made him very proud. Joe loved to spend time with family and friends, he loved to travel, was proud of his garden, and enjoyed all types of music, great food and good wine.

The family would like to thank his employees for their hard work and dedication. Special thanks to Glen Bussey (whom he referred to as his third son), our dear friend Zenny and his neighbours who checked in on him and Mom to say hello or to lend a helping hand when he needed one. We are grateful for the support and kindness of his doctors and the staff at Mount Saint Joseph hospital for the excellent care he received. A funeral service will be held at 10:00am on Tuesday, January 31, 2023, at Ocean View Funeral Home Chapel, 4000 Imperial Street Burnaby, BC.
