September 14th, 1957 – April 16th, 2024
Franco Ferrucci passed away at his home in Burnaby, British Columbia on April 14th, 2024. Though his death was unexpected and much too soon, Franco lived a full life rich in love and laughter, with his countless friendships a testament to his integrity, devotion, generosity, and larger than life character.
Born to Pietro and Annina Ferrucci on September 14th, 1957, Franco embarked upon the first act of his life in Prince George, BC. There, Franco grew up a prominent, well-respected member of the tight knit Italian community. During these years, Franco would forge the earliest of his many enduring friendships as well as discover his love of music and film.
Like the hero of any story, Franco would leave his hometown to pursue his calling. Franco’s pursuit was acting in the burgeoning metropolis of Vancouver, BC. And so his second act began. His dedication to acting would ultimately introduce him to his leading lady, Bernadette. Bernadette was his wife, his soulmate, his partner in everything. They travelled widely, sharing numerous trips with family and friends to destinations all over the world. Dinner parties were their forte and many friends will cherish memorable evenings of regaling and singing and laughing around their table.
Simultaneously, Franco would become part of another family: Mail-O-Matic, where his clients and coworkers alike quickly became his lifelong friends. While acting was his passion, Franco’s dedicated service to those who entrusted him with their business built an unwavering reputation for excellence across the industry and cultivated his storied career.
While the loss of his Bernadette in 2013 unalterably changed him, Franco endured. He poured himself into music, playing more, going to most any concert that interested him, and jamming regularly with his closest friends. He travelled to his beloved ancestral homeland of Italy often, taking family and friends with him, introducing them to where he came from and the people, places, and parts of his culture dearest to him. He continued to create connections wherever he went. He was a friend to his friends, a mentor to his nephews, the life of every party. While seemingly cut short to those left behind, his third act was cause for a standing ovation. He was truly beloved and will be missed beyond words. Encore, Franco.
Franco was predeceased by his wife, Bernadette; parents, Pietro and Annina; and brother, Vince. Franco is survived by nephews, Peter and Correy, as well as numerous extended family members and friends.
A celebration of Franco’s life will be held at Bell & Burnaby Funeral Chapel, 4276 Hastings St, Burnaby, at 11:00am on Saturday, April 27th.
