Mr. Dickson Teik Peng Lee passed peacefully in Delta on July 15, 2022 at the age of 79.
Dickson is sadly missed by his wife Julie Poh Guat (Ong) Lee; children Karen Siew Ping (Len), Sharon Siew Yim (Chris) and Katelyn Siew Voon (Vanna); grandchildren Zoe, Caleb, Amy, Mikayla, Emma, Ellie, Preston, Eric and Ian; and siblings Henry Lee (Toronto), Jenny Lee (Vancouver) and Teik Aun Lee (Malaysia).
Dickson was born November 14, 1942 in Taiping, Malaysia to Kow Nee Lee and Swee Eng Yeoh. He married Julie Poh Guat in 1971 and they both travelled the world before and after they had their 3 daughters. He owned a mini market for many years in Ipoh, Malaysia and with the help of his siblings, he raised a young family there. In 1989, he and his wife decided to immigrate to Canada for a better future for their 3 daughters. After moving to Vancouver and starting a new life at the age of 47, Dickson began working for 7-Eleven as a store clerk and eventually became an assistant manager. He worked tirelessly at a second job for many years to provide for his family’s comfort and well-being.
Dickson enjoyed spending time and caring for his 9 grandchildren. He was a kind and gentle father and grandfather who always put others’ needs before his own. After retirement, he enjoyed playing golf, carpet bowling and keeping busy with projects around the home. He also continued travelling the world with his wife.
A visitation service is scheduled for 1:00 to 2:15 PM on July 28, 2022 at Ocean View Funeral Home – Chapel (4000 Imperial Street, Burnaby, BC). All are welcome to attend and celebrate.
The family would like to thank staff at Delta Hospital and Royal Columbian Hospital for his care during his 6-week-stay.
